Former Muldrow Bulldog Tyren Collins scored 10 points to help lead the John Brown University Golden Eagles to a 91-73 home Sooner Athletic Conference home victory over the Oklahoma City University Stars on Nov. 28 night at Bill George Arena in Siloam Springs, Ark.
Then last Thursday night, Collins scored 11 points as the Golden Eagles got past Central Christian, Kan., 73-71 in overtime at Jerry Alexander Arena in McPherson, Kan.
However, the Golden Eagles lost 75-61 to Langston on Saturday afternoon at Bill George Arena as Collins scored two points.
In JBU’s home win Nov. 28 over OCU, the Golden Eagles (4-4 overall, 2-1 in SAC play) had a 52-32 halftime lead, which was fortunate second half.
In Thursday’s road win over Central Christian, Kan., the Golden Eagles led 33-30 at halftime, only to see Central Christian outscore them 35-32 to knot the game at 65-all to force overtime.
In the extra session, JBU outscored the host team 8-6 to get the Sooner Athletic Conference road victory.
In Saturday’s loss to Langston, the Lions jumped out to a 37-25 lead at halftime, then outscored the Golden Eagles 38-36 in the second half.
