Muldrow – Funeral services for Joe Ed Lee, 90, of Muldrow, were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God in Muldrow. Burial followed at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Lee was born on Feb. 25, 1933, in the Lee’s Chapel community to Mary Jane (Dority) Lee and Frank Emmett Lee. He died on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, in Muldrow.
He was married to Barbara Jean Weaver on Oct. 16, 1955, in Bakersfield, Calif.
He was a longtime barber and a member of Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed raising cattle, and served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict and was a Prisoner of War survivor.
Survivors are his wife, Barbara Lee of the home; two sons, Joe Lee and Amy Allen of Lahaina, Hawaii and Bill Lee and Nancy of Roland; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven sisters, Helen Metheny, Reba Shackelford, Ruby Lee, Margie Holcombe, Lizzie Snider, Bessie Gilbert and Ruth Lee; and five brothers, Dave Lee, John Lee, Tom Lee, Robert Lee and Billy Gene Lee.
Pallbearers were Allen Hale, Richard Snider, Albert Snider, Jerry Howell, Brendan Lee and Michael Lee.
Honorary pallbearers were Allen Hale, Sr., Richard Huggins and the members of Carnie Welch VFW Post 8384.
