Roland Assistant Police Chief Chris Waters said the Roland Police Department and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are continuing to investigate a Monday shooting that claimed the life of a 2-year-old child.
According to reports, the police department received a call on Monday and officers were dispatched to a residence near the area of Loop West. There, they discovered the 2-year-old female child and her father with gunshot wounds.
Both were transported to an area hospital where the child reportedly died as a result of her injuries.
The father had surgery and is expected to live. However, law enforcement have not been able to confirm if the shooting was accidental or not.
The victims’ names have not been released as of press time.
