Muldrow High School students are currently signing up and training to be READ mentors for the 2023-24 school year. READ stands for Reading Encourages All Dreams. High school students participating in this community service program have a strong desire to make a difference in someone’s life and to strengthen the future of our community.
READ pairs a Muldrow elementary child, grades 1 to 4, with a trained Muldrow High School mentor. Each mentor will meet with his/her student one afternoon or evening each week at the Muldrow Public Library. At these meetings, the mentor will build a friendship with his/her student, encourage them to have a love for reading, discuss important issues, and have a great time.
There will be a kickoff celebration Nov. 7 at 6 p.m., at the Muldrow Public Library. This is the time the mentors meet their elementary school student and his/her guardian.
If your elementary school child needs more practice in reading, then READ is for you! If you would like for your elementary school child to have a good role model, then READ is for you!
For questions, call Bethia Owens, 427-6703 or Kim Henderson, 4273274. To enroll your child, please call or drop by the Muldrow Public Library before Nov. 7.
