EMPORIA, Kan. — Two former Muldrow Bulldogs, quarterback Braden Gleason and wide receiver Trenden Collins, helped lead the Emporia State Hornets to a 39-17 win over the Nebraska- Kearney Lopers to make it a happy homecoming Saturday at Welch Stadium.
Gleason was 27-of-42 for 250 yards and five touchdown passes, including a 34-yard TD pass to Collins in the second quarter to get the Hornets (6-3 overall, 5-3 in MIAA Conference play) to within four points at 10-6 with 7:57 left before halftime. Two more Gleason TD passes before halftime got Emporia State the lead at halftime by the score of 18-10.
Collins caught two passes for 38 yards and a TD.
