Burrell crowned Miss NOC

Jaidyn Burrell, of Roland, was crowned Miss Northern Oklahoma College (NOC) last Tuesday night at the Kinzer Performing Arts Center.

She was crowned by Miss NOC Tonkawa 2023 Kira Pendleton and Miss NOC Enid 2023 Kaycee Babek.

Burrell, a pre-nursing student at NOC Enid, received a $1,000 scholarship expense award, Miss America crown and pin, sash, and a bouquet of long-stemmed red roses. She will advance to the Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Pageant in Tulsa next June.

Her talent was performing the Pink Panther theme on the piano. Her Community Service Initiative is “Doodling Kindness One Crayon at a Time.” She also plays on the Jets Softball team.

First runner-up for Miss NOC was Jocelyn Kuhlmann from Tonkawa, who received a $600 scholarship expense award. Second runnerup was Abby Davis of Tonkawa, who received a $400 scholarship expense award.

Candidates were judged in the talent competition as well as artistic expression, presence and poise in evening and exercise wear, and an on-stage question. Earlier in the day they were individually interviewed by five judges.

Dr. Edward Dixon, NOC Fine Arts Division chair, served as master of ceremonies for the evening, and Miss Oklahoma 2023 Sunny Day performed for the audience.

This is the first time the Miss NOC Tonkawa and Miss NOC Enid pageants were combined.

Burrell graduated from Roland High School in May of this year. She is the daughter of Jay and Lindsey Burrell.
