Sequoyah County Commissioners approved inter local agreements Tuesday for schools located in District 3 of Sequoyah County, along with taking action or no action on several agenda items.
Schools approved for the inter local agreements were Brushy, Belfonte, Sallisaw, Gans and Central. District 3 Commissioner Jim Rogers said the agreement provides help for the schools from the county as needed.
During citizen’s presentations, Jonathan Teague, deputy director of Sequoyah County Emergency, reported the agency has received a $10,000 emergency management grant which comes with several requirements which he went over with commissioners.
Teague also said cold temperatures are coming in over the weekend.
Sequoyah County Undersheriff Charles House reported he and Rogers met with officials from the health department to discuss some resources which may be available in dealing with mental health issues.
Caleb Kamarunas with Johnson Controls provided a presentation of sustainable infrastructure with the commissioners.
