The 2023 fast-pitch softball season came to an end Thursday for the Roland Lady Rangers as they lost both of their Class 3A Regional Tournament games in Idabel, losing 16-6 to the host Lady Warriors and falling 14-0 to Kiefer.
Those losses came on the heels of a 5-1 road loss to Panama in the regular-season finale on Sept. 18
The Lady Rangers end the season at 9-20.
In the regional-tournament loss to Idabel, the Lady Warriors trailed 3-1 after an inning, but scored twice in the third inning to tie the game at 3-all, then scored seven runs in the fifth inning for a 10-3 lead.
In defeat, Kynlei Earnhart was 3-for-4 with a run scored, while KyLeigh Knapp was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs batted in and a run scored for Roland. Emily Daws took the loss, despite striking out five batters in seven innings.
There was no more information on the regional-tournament loss to Kiefer by press time.
In the regular-season finale loss to Panama, the Lady Razorbacks scored three runs in the first inning and single runs in the fourth and sixth innings for a 5-0 lead.
The lone run for the Lady Rangers scored in the seventh inning on Aubriana Gragg’s steal of home in the seventh inning.
In defeat, Sara Qualls, Jaydence Bean and Lilly Cole each singled for the only hits for Roland. Daws took the loss, getting a strikeout in six innings.
