The Gans Lady Grizzlies lost their road game Sept. 11 to the Porum Lady Panthers by a score of 17-0, then had their home finale Sept. 12 against McCurtain rained out.
Gans coach Laney James said the McCurtain game likely won’t be rescheduled.
In the loss to Porum, the Lady Grizzlies (1–13) were two-hit by Porum pitcher Mesa Coulston.
The Lady Panthers scored six runs in the first inning and 11 runs in the second inning to put the game into runrule status.
In defeat, Gabbie Price and Stevie Pratt each singled for Gans. Brianna Burris (1-10) took the loss.
The Lady Grizzlies will begin their postseason with a 3:30 p.m. Thursday doubleheader at Red Oak in the Class A District Tournament.
If one team sweeps the other, the tournament is over and the winner will advance to next week’s regional tournament. The loser’s season will end.
However, if both teams split Thursday afternoon’s twinbill, then there will be a winnertake-all game on Friday.
