TAHLEQUAH — Former Muldrow Bulldogs football players Braden Gleason and Trenden Collins helped their collegiate team, the Emporia State Hornets blank the Northeastern State University RiverHawks 38-0 on Saturday night at Gable Field at Doc Wadley Stadium.
Gleason went 17-of-19 passing with 206 yards and three touchdowns in the first half and did not play in the second half as the Hornets (3-0, 2-0 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association). Collins caught a 7-yard TD pass from back-up quarterback Chance Ricke.
So far this season, Gleason has thrown for 914 yards and 11 touchdowns, while rushing for 29 yards and a TD.
Collins has 16 receptions for 162 yards and 2 TDs.
The Hornets will return to action at 1 p.m. next Saturday with a home game against the Central Oklahoma Bronchos at Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kan.
