MAUD — The Gans Grizzlies were not able to get their first win of the 2023 football season Friday night as they lost a 76-38 road game to the Maud Tigers.
The Grizzlies (0-3) had three individuals score multiple touchdowns — Caiden Kennedy, Nakota White and Clay Martinez.
“We’re still trying to find the right guys in the right spots,” Gans coach Brian Morton said. “Injuries are still a major issue. We had our eight starters to begin the game, but from about eight minutes (left in the opening quarter), we did not have all eight of them on the field from that time on.”
The Grizzlies originally were scheduled to travel Friday night to meet the Graham-Dustin Chieftains, but the Chieftains overscheduled and ended up playing a different opponent.
The Grizzlies will travel this Friday night to meet the Midway Chargers at 7 p.m. in Council Hill, northwest of Checotah.
