The Roland Lady Rangers lost their season opener Aug. 7 at Eufaula by a score of 11-0.
However, the Lady Rangers tried twice to get its home opener played against Heavener, first trying on Aug. 8 then the following day, but both attempts were rained out. Coach Mason Wiggins said the game will be rescheduled for 4 p.m. Aug. 23.
In the loss to Eufaula, the Lady Rangers (0-1) were two-hit by Eufaula pitcher Avery Williams, who struck out eight Roland batters.
The Lady Ironheads scored once in the first inning and twice in the third inning for a 3-0 lead, then put away the game with a sevenrun third inning.
In defeat, each of the Qualls sisters, Scarlett and Sara, hit singles for the two Roland hits.
Emily Daws (0-1) took the loss, going the first 3.2 innings with six strikeouts. Kyleigh Knapp went the rest of the way.
