Sen. Warren Hamilton, R-McCurtain, was named one of the top constitutional conservative lawmakers in the state after receiving a perfect score on the Oklahoma Conservative Index.
Hamilton was the only state Senator to receive this recognition.
“I am honored to have been recognized as one of the top four conservatives in the state Legislature,” Hamilton said.
“More importantly, I am proud of what this represents. I take my oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of Oklahoma very seriously.
“I will continue to stand firm in upholding our state’s constitutional and conservative values for my constituents, state and country.”
The Oklahoma Conservative Index is managed by The Oklahoma Constitution and rates state legislators by their votes on key pieces of legislation.
Votes reviewed this year were on bills from the 2023 session related to restricting foreign land ownership in the state, preventing children from being subjected to irreversible gender transition surgeries, educational freedom and more.
“We made some great progress in the last legislative session by putting needed protections in place for our citizens and their freedoms. I look forward to continuing that progress next year.
“Again, I am honored to be one of Oklahoma’s top conservative lawmakers and will continue to echo the voices of constitutional conservatives across Senate District 7 and the entire state,” Hamilton said.
