DALLAS —Oklahoma State’s Nolan Schubart and Isaac Stebens are 2023 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-America third team honorees.
Schubart was named to the team as an outfielder, while Stebens earned a spot as a relief pitcher.
With the duo being honored, OSU now counts 136 All-America honors in its program’s storied history.
A freshman from Durand, Mich., Schubart was the 2023 Big 12 Conference Co-Newcomer of the Year and an All-Big 12 First Team performer. He ranks in the top 10 in the league in eight offensive categories.
Schubart posted a .338 batting average this season to go along with 20 doubles, 17 homers and 74 runs batted in. His 74 RBIs are the second-highest total in the Big 12 this season and are the most by an OSU player since Tyler Mach’s 81 in 2007.
The NCBWA honor marks the second All-America selection for Schubart, who was previously named to the Collegiate Baseball All-America third team. He also earned Freshman All-America honors from both Collegiate Baseball and the NCBWA.
Stebens blossomed into a star out of the bullpen in his first season with his hometown team.
A junior right-hander, Stebens leads the Big 12 with a 2.24 earned-run average, and he posted a 4-1 record and six saves in a team-high 28 appearances this season.
In 64.1 innings, Stebens racked up 85 strikeouts, which ranks seventh in the Big 12, and he also ranks in the top 10 in the conference in saves, opponent batting average (.212) and appearances.
