Living History Education Day scheduled for Fort Towson Historic Site
Fort Towson will host “Timeline,” a living history event, on Thursday, March 3, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Educational stations will include re-enactors portraying time periods from the fort’s beginning in 1824 through the 1870s. Visitors will see soldiers in full gear and civilians who dealt with the soldiers at the fort. The re-enactors will teach students about the uniforms, weapons and lifestyles of soldiers, trappers, storekeepers and other people around the region who were connected to the fort. Guests will move from station to station to see demonstrations about military life.
